Vince Zampella, head of Respawn, has confirmed that the new Star Wars game will be single-player with no microtransactions.

“No multiplayer, no microtransactions, it’s a story game”

This announcement was instantly met with excitement as the crowd cheered when Vince Zampella emphasized that the game has no microtransactions.

This is even more confirmed as EA Star Wars Tweeted about it as well saying that it has no lootboxes either.

Following the surprising announcement from EA, who is known to have a lot of microtransactions in their games, a handful of developers excitedly tweeted about the game.

The game is set in the during the Dark Times and is about a padawan who survived Order 66. Order 66 is the command that almost wiped out the entire Jedi in the movies. It took place after the Clone Wars and was executed by Emperor Palpatine who was secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Not much was revealed on the exact story but Vince has said that more information will be revealed soon.

It seems like EA is trying to fix it’s microtransaction backlash with their last Star Wars game, Star Wars Battlefront 2 in 2017. Also, knowing that Respawn will be developing the game is a sigh of relief since they are the ones who developed the sci-fi game Titanfall and the newest Battle Royale game that is taking over the world right now, Apex Legends which is set in the Titanfall universe.
