Resident Evil: Project Resistance gameplay trailer reveals it is a 4v1 co-op survivor game

After weeks of teasing, Capcom has finally revealed the gameplay trailer which actually shows a lot of the game.

Games such as Dead by Daylight made the 4v1 survival horror game popular through the years and more games similar to it are popping out. And what better way to get into the action of this genre than Capcom themselves with their Resident Evil IP.

Resident Evil is known as a singleplayer game which pits players among hordes of abominations of Umbrella Corp, an evil pharmaceutical company with billions of funding planning on taking over the world. Throughout the years however, Capcom has included multiplayer aspects to Resident Evil. However, this is the first time a Resident Evil game will be a 4v1 co-op survivor game.

You can either play as the mastermind or 1 of the 4 survivors trapped in what seemingly is an Umbrella Corp lab. The survivors however do not look like S.T.A.R.S., the military or any armed mercenary for hire. Rather, you play a bunch of what seems to be a group of teenagers who probably happened to get trapped in an Umbrella lab. How did that even happen?

Although unlike Dead by Daylight where you can’t fight the killer. Resident Evil: Project Resistance will allow survivors to fight the enemies in various ways. This is Resident Evil after all, guns are part of the game.

As a survivor, you have to cooperate with your team to fight through various Umbrella Corp abominations such as zombies, dogs, lickers and even Mr. X. The survivors also have to be wary of traps and other situations such as lights going out. Their goal is to escape.

Meanwhile the mastermind can plant traps, turn the lights off, monitor the movements of the survivors through cameras, plant enemies such as zombies and even become Mr. X. Although considering Mr. X is overpowered, the mastermind probably has to meet certain requirements to play as the deadly Tyrant. The mastermind’s main goal is to impede the survivor’s escape.

There will be a beta next month but it will be in Japan. There’s no release date yet but it will be out on PS4, Xbox One and Steam.
