Pia Wurtzbach wants to play the new Pinay Superhero Wave in the new Marvel Comic book seriesMarch 30, 2019
Marvel entertainment, everyone’s favorite comic book producers will release a new comic book series named “War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas”, and the former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach expressed her interest to play as Wave.
Wave is The first ever Filipina superhero that was created by Marvel.
Angel Locsin denies the role
At first, the co-creator of the said comic book series, Leinil Francis Yu, wanted Angel Locsin, a Filipina actress, to play as Wave.
Would love to see you as Wave, Angel!”, but Angel denied the offer adding that she is done playing superhero roles.
Pia Wurtzback expresses interest in the role
Pia was then asked if she’s interested on the idea of playing as Wave, and the former Miss Universe responded “Definitely! If there’s gonna be an audition for it, I’m gonna try for that. Why not, ‘di ba?”
Pia always wanted to make a Hollywood film, and this dream of Pia intensified when she met and interviewed Brie Larson, the Hollywood actress who played as Carol Danvers on Marvel’s “Captain Marvel”.
“Well that dream is still there, I’m still trying to pursue my dream. I know that I still have a long way to go. Definitely have to gain experience here in the Philippines before I can try abroad” said Pia.
According to wave’s creator, Leinil, Wave’s name is “Pearl Pangan” and she lives in Cebu. She has the power of water and her weapon is inspired from the Filipino sword “kampilan”. The comic book series “War of the Realms:New Agents of Atlas” will be released on May this year
Despite Pia’s interest, Marvel has no plans of making a movie or TV series on the upcoming comic book series yet.
