GGWP Academy is launching an educational esports platformApril 3, 2019
It was announced yesterday that the Australian startup GGWP Academy is preparing for their Esports platform this coming June.
Jacqueline Garrett—who is the founder of the startup—believes that a more professional approach to education within the gaming community will give better opportunities and better growth in the esports as well as the gaming industry as a whole. For the players, it will also give them more opportunities and educate them on the business side of things. For the brands, it would give more knowledge about the industry, helping them understand more about esports and professional gaming. This could further bridge the gap between players and brands and help them get in common ground. Since it is not common anymore for major brands to take part in esports. Take for example Golden Guardians and 100 Thieves, who also owns franchises of NBA teams’ Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers respectively.
“Right now, we’re very much focused on providing the best value and learning experience possible for our users while also raising seed capital so we can bring this product to as many gamers possible, globally,” Garrett said. “We’re very excited to be the first to market in this space and to announce the partnerships we’re currently locking down.”
There isn’t much info about what exactly GGWP Academy will offer, but they claim that they will give free education regarding esports, how to develop your brand, game psychology and many more.
